Anna Wintour's Fashionable Friends...

A who's-who of American creatives descended upon houston and sullivan street this week for a fundraiser to benefit the 'Democratic National Committee' and where was this to take place, only Anna Wintour's house. Guest of honour? Only Obama!

The guests were all said to exit way after expeted, with one exclaiming 'it was just excellent' - Just imagine this, a party with Anna Wintour, Barrack Obama, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Georgina Chapman, Diane Von Furstenberg and many more! That's a list worthy of one of those questions you get asked at a dinner party...

Oh and PS this dinner party cost roughly £30,000 per head.

Style Icon: Olivia Palermo...

I think I have finally forgiven New York Socialite and The City star Olivia Palermo for claiming she 'pulled that look' for the Dianne Von Furstenberg LookBook!
Just Look at these b-e-a-u-tiful shots from Asos Magazine's Cover shoot. Now i don't know if she 'pulled the look' herself, but these outfits are very wearable. Note to self, keep eye out for Camel Cape and Leather Shorts.

What I really like about Palermo is her ability to make highstreet look so expensive. She'll mix in Topshop with her Marc Jacobs or DVF and it will work. Possibly something to do with the fact she is a twig and will look good in anything?

It's safe to say i have developed a slight style crush. Or wardrobe envy, call it what you will!

Sandra Freij

I've been getting a lot of compliments lately about my blog header! So I thought I should divulge some information behind the picture! It is the work of Swedish fashion photographer Sandra Freij who's quirky, fun and colourful work has featured in many editorials from Lula magazine, Mixte, Milk Magazine and Swedish Elle.

Grace Kelly Exhibition

The Grace Kelly exhibition at the V&A has been on for quite some time now, but being a busy bee i've only just had the opportunity to go! It was so beautiful. A tad small, But still got that daily dose of glamour to brighten my day!!

The exhibition starts off with dresses from her film career/public appearances from the 1950's. Including her own oscar! (which i was mesmerised by!)

I love the grecian wrap dress - which was a swimwear cover up for a scene in 'high society'.

Grace Kelly's Oscar and her Luggage. Marked with initials GBK.

The exhibition then goes on to her life from meeting Prince Rainer III of Monaco.

Vintage Christian Dior (which was Grace's favourite shop in New York for many years) and Vintage Balenciaga Jacket (Worn when She got back on from her honey moon to mask rumours of pregnancy!)

Hermés 'Kelly' Bag.

A selection of Hat's from Grace Kelly's wardrobe. She famously accessorised her outfits with turbans, like the one picture above!

My favourite dress from the exhibition.

Definitely worth a visit if you haven't already and have an hour to spare! It's at the V&A in South Kensington, London.

Olivier Zahm and his blogger hatred...

This is Olivier Zahm from Purple magazine talking about how he wants to kill all fashion bloggers. I think he must have had a bad experience here or there...perhaps he was once subjected to a seat behind Tavi's Purple rinse. I mean who wouldn't find that distracting. Terry Richardson is giving him a 'really, why did i sit here' kind of look, i do love Terry.

Meh. he looks a bit smelly anyway.

You've got to laugh.

I feel rather horrible for laughing at this lady's misfortune but you have got to laugh. Back in April when the whole second year of my course had deadline nerves this was about the only thing we could laugh at!

I hope she didn't break her ankles...they look very wobbly!

River Island - Autumn/Winter 10

Here's the preview of the new River Island Autumn/Winter lines! It is B-E-A-U-tiful, i hope you'll agree! And reasonably priced too, the Biker Shearling jacket is reportedly £59.99.
I'll be checking online every day from now on!

I love the layering with faux furs and shabby knits in Fairlisle and Leopard prints! CAMEL TRENCH! Be mine. In fact I want all of these looks.

So we're in for a militarian/equestrian winter folks! Ruby red velvets teamed with lace prints, Capes, Camels, Trenches. Masculine tailored shorts and coats. LOTS of layering. I'm saving the pennies as of now.

H&M AW10 PREVIEW

Here's what's up and coming for autumn/winter at H&M.

Ahhhh it is all so beautiful! the shearling, the camel coat the high waisted wide legs! It all looks so sophisticated and, well, wintery! They have well and truly embraced the androgynous tailoring trend! With boxy tailored trenches and trousers. Absolutely have my eye on those leather shorts too.
