Not another one..

Katy Perry's gone for the chop! The second star of late to ditch the long locks, not quite as drastic as Emma Watson.

There's always extensions right?

Vogue Model...

A new book for the coffee table. "Vogue Model: The Faces of Fashion" is a 350 page hardback which allows us to fascinate some more over the model species.

I think it's fair to say models are a huge part of the fashion industry, and whilst we may not know a lot about them personally, we drool and fantasize about the clothes they model, their catwalk strut or their original style and beauty.

From the 1950's onwards models started to become house hold names (Twiggy for example in the mid 60s) and with the 1990s the profession just exploded! Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Heidi Klum - just to name a few, are all recognised brands!

The Vogue Model book explores 90 years of Vogue models through photographs and illustrations as a celebration of the Face of Fashion!

Alexander Wang Fall 2010 Campaign Video...

Alexander Wang X Abbey Lee Kershaw = Serious chic points.

Well, well ,well, Wang has stepped away from the Jersey casuals which are must-have on the fashion scene to pieces with a more grown up, gothic, vampy 'make you want to writhe around on the floor in a derelict New York apartment' vibe!

This campaign has got the style and the sex appeal to boot, surpassing a print campaign by any means because you get to see the clothes at their very best - with movement. Why can't we all look like Abbey Lee.

"Style Push" Review.

Right. Reasons why 'Style Push' on Fiver was so painful to watch...
  1. She arrives at London and gets whisked away to a rooftop party within the first hour of her being there. Whilst at the party her ex of four years just strolls in by himself (bearing in mind the pair are from Glasgow?!)
  2. The acting is ridiculous. (The main girl isn't as bad as the others)
  3. Her 'cousin' is a Ballet dancer who is told "YOU CAN NEVER DANCE AGAIN" whilst having a ballet physio therapy lesson in her flat. Casual.
  4. Fakest argument ever when main girl tries to take cousin to ballet as a surprise. Switched off then.
  5. She gets ridiculously good opportunities from Cult Beauty, Models one and ELLE MAGAZINE who all seemingly 'love her blog' (which doesn't exist as I have googled her and this is all that comes up... Amazing Blog)
  6. She gets given a Nicole Fahri Dress on loan by Elle for readers of her blog to style up in different ways.
  7. She just has to meet up with her ex boyfriend who was having an affair for the last 6 months of their relationship.
  8. She answers her phone when there has been no ringtone or vibrations!
  9. All the actors are models.
  10. It all ends on a reflective balcony night time scene.
Oh please. I had quite high hopes for this as i'm such a reality tv junkie and This girl is seemingly on a mission that one day I will be on. The whole thing is just a slap to the face for hard working Fashion Journalists which won't stroll into London one day with One post on their so called blog and get an amazing appartment in Shoreditch, dresses on loan from Elle, who won't casually get work from models one and interviews with Cult Beauty.

People actually put a lot of effort into their blogs! I would have respected the whole programme more if they wouldn't have called it Reality and it was just a sitcom or something. Reality Shmeality. The hills is definitely real after seeing this!

Style Push...

Theres a new reality TV show debut tonight. It's called 'Push' it is on tonight (Wednesday) on 'Fiver' at 10pm!

The synopsis goes a little something like this. A Wannabe fashion journalist makes the big move to the big smoke to follow her dreams, with all the ups and downs a long the way. I don't think I need say anymore really it speaks for itself.

I know there is a lot of snobbery about these sorts of reality shows - whether they're fake or not. However, the first episode is an inside view of the Elle uk offices. A reason in itself to watch?

I will most probably be watching and will report back later tonight! Over and out.

News from a tribe called Luella...

The fashion journalist turned designer Luella Bartley is making a comeback. Unfortunately for moi (and the rest of the luella tribe) she is not revitalising the Luella Brand...However, she is releasing a book. From the woman responsible for collections called 'Daddy I want a pony' and 'Dial F for Fluro' it is not a shock that she is publishing a book called ' Luella's Guide to English Style'.

In her hay day Luella's quirky English Tea Party dresses and bags were popular amongst 'Brit Pack' cool gang of Alexa Chung, Kate Moss, Daisy Lowe, Pixie Geldof, Lily Allen and Kelly Osbourne.

So while that all sounds very amazing, and i most certainly will be buying it, i hope she picks up on the designing front again! I miss her!

(Luelle's Guide to English Style will be published in October)

Copenhagen Street Style...

Whilst doing my day-to-day twitter stalk I came across an amazing tweet from Sarah Leigh's Style File about Copenhagen Street Style. She posted about this look:

It's an animalistic day time look by a 20 year old blogger called Eveline. I love the style so much, the socks and shoes, the city shorts and the looseness of the top belted at the waist. You'd think the leopard face print and the leopard print would clash, non?

So i had a browse through the back log of the street style site and found so many inspirational styles!

Copenhagen, the new New York?
